The Challenge Ladder was an initiative originally introduced in April 2008 by the Canterbury Bankstown Association. It was offered to the Hardcourt Associations in June 2008 and was taken up by Blacktown, Eastwood-Thornleigh, North-Western and Parramatta City Tennis (as well as Canterbury Bankstown).
The organiser of the system, Alex Gollan has provided the following statistics:
• The Challenge Ladder currently has 197 players, from 110 suburbs.
• 85% of the players are male.
• 57% of the players are from Canterbury Bankstown.
• 18% are from the Eastwood/Epping region.
• The amount of matches played per month varies between 25 – 40.
In the future, the Ladder is looking to expand into doubles, tournaments and competitions.
